University of Westminster
Drupal consultancy and support
- Complex integration using both Drupal 7 and Drupal 8
- CloudFlare proxy to divery traffic between sites
- Integrations with bespoke web services to source courses and educators
The University of Westminster started out 180 years ago as the first polytechnic in London and one of the first in the UK, established to educate the working people of London. Today they continue to build on this reputation, helping students from a variety of backgrounds to realise their full potential.
UoW approached Drupology for consultancy around how to improve performance and ease of use with their existing Drupal website. A complex integration was required to pull data from several external web services into Drupal and advice was sought around the structure of the site and nature of the integrations.
Additionally the site needed to display content from both Drupal 7 and Drupal 8, hosted on two separate Acquia Enterprise Elite subscriptions. CloudFlare was used with custom rules to facilitate this requirement, and gradually as the Drupal 7 functionality is moved to Drupal 9 the 7 site can be retired.

We very much felt that you did an excellent job of fulfilling the remit we gave you and have quickly delivered significant value that helps us as an organisation to finally determine a baseline of where we are with our current Drupal deployment.
Your work has cut away the layers of ambiguity that more often than not surround such projects and has given us good insight into both the current state of play as well as the players. You’ve given us what we need to know to move forwards and turn it into a truly excellent deployment.”
